#0004

I have heard it said of men
That they lie time and time again;
Cannot be relied on for the truth,
But hate correction and reproof.

A man is made of many faults,
Himself he oftentimes exalts,
Yet I can say of some I know
there is some distance left to go;
But they have achieved such steady starts,
With goodness written on their hearts;
My friends will see me through the years
being there to wipe my tears.

For, men can be both kind and wise,
my problems they compartmentalise,
I find that they, too, have need of me;
So we are friends, reciprocally.
